Surprise Steak

I ve had it many times but never made it. My excuse was that I don’t have an outdoor grill. Or maybe that I don’t know how to cook a meat that has a name starting with “surprise” because who knows what the results could be. But finally last week, in a second of hesitation I bought the meat, firmly decided it was time to stop making excuses. I only enjoy eating why not trying to make it at home. I’m not a big carnivore but one or two slices on meat can always be a great dinner. I made it very simple with just olive oil, salt and pepper. The taste of the meat is so amazing that the simplest seasoning is just enough. I served it with caramelized onions and oven roasted potatoes. I only have to admit one thing: I couldn’t limit myself to one or two slices, I might have easily eaten 4 to 5 generous slices.

1.5 lbs of surprise steak

Olive oil

Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the steaks. Heat up 1 tbsp of olive oil in a pan and sear for 5-6 minutes. Preheat the oven on 350 and bake the steak for 30 minutes uncovered.

Serve it with caramelized onions or a side of oven roasted potatoes.
